the dislocation of body, spirit and landscape
This is a series that I find myself kept coming back to, the first painting of this series dates 2019.
When the body does not reflect the soul, and when the spirit leave the landscape. When the elements dislocate themselves from the original body and act with an individual mind.
This series discusses identity crisis associated to geographical relations of a person to their hometown. In the majority of the series, the artist put comically illustrated clouds on top of various backgrounds that suggest real locations as a metaphor of not feeling blend in to one's background. Sometimes the elements are painted with checkers that suggest transparency (as in digital image editing softwares) to communicate the feeling of being not seen and ignored.
